    Profile of the East Taijinar Lake

    It is located in Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province Golmud City; geographical coordinates: 93 ° 49 '~ 94 ° 01'E, 37 ° 24' ~ 37 ° 36'N. From the east by Lakes Sebei gas grid Shibuya Station 158km road and the Golmud - big qaidam convergence 215 National Road, from the Lakes Region to Golmud City, 238km, more convenient transportation.

    The ingredients of the Salt Lake contains the lake and there is table brine lake andbrine inter-crystal. The salinity of the Lake Table brine is 331.5g / l, and the relative density is 1.2097, with the ph value of 7.7. The salinity of brine inter-crystal is 344.6g / l, the relative density is 1.2255,with the ph value of 7.9. The chemical type of the Salt Lake water is magnesium sulfate.

    It is at the same beach with the West Taijnar Lake Salt Lake. It accepts the Narin Gol River on the northern slope of Kunlun Mountains ,and the lower is supplied by r the East Taijnar River all the year round ,with the average annual flow of 33.8m3 / s. The Salt Lake is the North West - South East to the distribution of 22km in length, 5km in width , an area of 116km2, water depth of 0.6 ~ 1m, the lake elevation of 2681m. The annual average temperature is 3.56°C, and the mean temperature is 17.34 °Cin July, with the extreme maximum temperature of 33.8 °C.And the average temperature is -11.7 °C in January, with the extreme minimum temperature of -31.4 °C. The annual days on which the average temperature under 0 °C is about 120 days .It freezes in late October and begins to thaw in March in the following year. The annual average precipitation is 30.24mm, but the average annual evaporation is 2649.6 mm, which is 80 times of the precipitation .It blows regularly northwest wind with the average wind speed of 4m / s .And there is strong solar radiation and long hours of sunshine. From April to September is the main evaporation season, which supplies a good climate and environment to develop the Salt lake . The Taijnar East Salt Lake is one of the few of rich –in-lithium Salt lake.

    The Salt Lake area will become China's industrial base of Lithium, boron, potassium, magnesium production and development, scientific research and experimental development and utilization of resource.

    Qinghai Salt Lake lithium and comprehensive utilization of resources by high-tech industrialized demonstration projects
    Qinghai Salt Lake Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences relies on technological achievements to develop lithium resources of the East Taijnar Qinghai Salt Lake.The current commitment to the "Qinghai Salt Lake Lithium and the comprehensive utilization of resources" industrialized demonstration project is funded by the State Development Planning Commission and the feasibility study report approved by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in November 2001, co-chaired with the Qinghai Province Development Planning Commission. Qinghai Lithium Co., Ltd. meet the capital. Qinghai Salt Lake Institute provide technical support. Building locations is the East Taijnar Salt Lake. The project employes Salt technology, high-Mg-Li separation technology, boric acid, potassium sulfate, and the outcome of the optimization of a number of processes, builds a model of lithium carbonate industry production line, an annual production capacity of 3,000 tons of lithium carbonate, 2500 tons of boric acid and the production capacity of 25,000 tons of potassium sulfate.

    development of Salt Lake to lithium technology has been made by Qinghai Lithium Co., Ltd. with the international advanced level. And the production costs of the lithium carbonate is close to or even lower than the cost of similar products in the international level.
    Completed by the end of November 2001 the four square kilometers of the sun and the corresponding Salt Brine channels, brine storage tanks, has produced 60,000 m3of brine mine reserves for the final production of lithium carbonate and nearly 100,000 m3potassium Solid mineral for the potassium sulfate production. Planned in 2005 reserve 7,500,000 m3of the brine salt, by now it has completed 5,000,000 m3.
    The main workshop area is over 20,000 square meters. At present, the production of lithium carbonate products plant equipment installation is in progress, and strive to conduct a trial run in March 2006. Most of the other plant equipment, auxiliary equipment have been delivered to the scene. Air Station facilities, natural gas regulator station, boiler house has finished the basic construction, and will enter the debugging stage.
    Factory integrated network begins construction in early September 2005 and materials for the control network is being delivered to the scene for the end of March 2006 in the pre-completion. It has completed work on the air-gas pipeline of 14 km in length, and gas supply capacity of 7500Nm3 / h.
    The overall project schedule for the 3000 tons per year of lithium carbonate plantand strive to build test in March 2006. The 25,000 tons of potassium sulfate per year workshop is planned to complete the trial production in June 2006.And the 2500 tons of boric acid per year project is planned to complete the trial production in September 2006.

    Salt Lake lithium technology industry made significant progress (October 22, 2007)
    In October of Autumn-the harvest season, we have good news from the East Taijnar base. After years of hard work of our scientific research personnel and supported by our scientific and technological, the "Qinghai Salt Lake Lithium and comprehensive utilization of resources" national industrialization projects Lithium Technology has been successful. It indicates that our high-Mg-Li Lithium Salt Lake achieves the technical success of large-scale production.
    The industrialization of the key projects of lithium carbonate production plant begin its first test run on October 8, 2007.And on 24 o’clock of October 18 produced the first batch of qualified products. The quality of products will meet the designed specifications, and unit equipment is superior to the designed capacity indicators. Up to now, process technology and equipment operates normally, and has produced a large number of qualified products.
    The project is funded by the National Development and Reform Commission in Novemberapproved a feasibility study2001. By the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qinghai Provincial Development and Reform Commission co-chaired, and Qinghai Lithium Co., Ltd. meet the capital.
